Being a Sustainable Leader that Thrives – final part of our 8 month Leadership Programme & Accredited with the Institute of Leadership
Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our outstanding Class of 2024 for the final module of our Unlocking Your Leadership Potential program – Being a Sustainable Leader that Thrives. This impactful and thought-provoking session marked the end of an incredible journey—a journey filled with growth, connection, insight, and lasting impact. Together, we celebrated our participants’ achievements and guided them in creating a personal development plan to support their continued growth as leaders.
“In my career I’ve had several leadership trainings…but this one was different. It’s completely about yourself – you go very in depth…it was an amazing journey.”
“During the last 8 months I’ve had the opportunity to stop and to think about my career…I’ve learned so much with so many coaches that have allowed me to reflect on my leadership and the leader that I want to be – not only in my work but I my life.”
At the program’s conclusion, we are proud to present participants with their Institute of Leadership certificates and award them Fellows membership of the Institute.
The two-day event focused on Sustainability and the essential behaviours leaders need to navigate high levels of challenge, complexity, change, and ambiguity. As leaders, our energy is our most valuable resource, making it the ideal theme to close our programme on.
“This is a multi-dimensional programme which helps you to think about yourself in many ways. My ‘Aha’ was to crystalise my ‘Why’/ my purpose… to help me and my decisions.”
Resilience experts from Escentia led a dynamic session on resilience and sustainable leaders, equipping participants with practical tools to become more adaptable and resilient. A session designed to empower our leaders to thrive amidst change, ensuring they have the skills to lead sustainably and effectively, even in uncertain times.
Following this, we had the privilege of an energetic and thought-provoking session with guest speaker Prof. Keith Grint, Professor Emeritus of Public Leadership at Warwick University. Keith explored the fundamental nature of leadership problems, along with the decision-making styles and resources leaders need to address them effectively.
On the final day, program coach Ruth Simpson led an inspiring session on navigating constant change and transition as a senior leader. With her extensive experience in corporate consulting and EMCC accreditation as a Master Practitioner, Ruth shared effective strategies for managing change in a sustainable way, which drew on her expertise in coaching senior leaders through major transitions.
The module also created valuable space for self-reflection, as delegates shared insights gained throughout the program. A highlight was the presentation and feedback session, where participants shared their personal development plans—showcasing their learnings and intentions for ongoing growth. Delegates will have further opportunities to refine their plans with their coaches in the coming weeks.
“The course was the most amazing thing. Enriching, meeting people from all different backgrounds and in different roles. There’s so much I’m going to take back…Also I hadn’t realised what a profound effect it’s had on my personal life and how I can make changes to that as well as my work.”
“Now I have a lot more direction so I can be clear on the direction of travel over the next 10 years.”
Finally, we capped off this memorable experience with a celebration dinner, bringing together our delegates, coaches, and team to honour the journey and achievements shared along the way.
