Becoming an Enterprise Leader: Highlights from Module 2 of Unlocking Your Leadership Potential

Last week, our 2026 cohort gathered in the stunning Surrey Hills for Module 2 of the Unlocking Your Leadership Potential programme – and what a session it was. Across two and a half immersive days, delegates from the Commercial and Medical worlds, alongside HR and Charity sectors in global and local businesses deepened their skills, stretched their thinking, and sharpened their leadership practice.

“Each module encourages deep reflection and personal growth, allowing you to explore areas of your life that you may have previously overlooked.” – Delegate feedback

Day 1 – Stepping Into Enterprise Leadership

We kicked off with a deep dive into what it really means to lead at the enterprise level. From shareholder value and earnings reports to P+L management and operational excellence, the day challenged our leaders to think beyond functional expertise and step into the bigger picture.

Guiding this exploration was guest expert Frank Overtoom, a board-level commercial finance leader with an outstanding track record in business growth, strategic delivery, and performance improvement. Delegates reflected not only on the commercial acumen needed at the top but also on the power they already bring as leaders—and where they can grow further.

“Throughout the program, engaging activities and discussions prompt you to think critically and embrace new ideas, fostering a deeper understanding of your values, goals, and motivations.” – Delegate Feedback

Day 2 – Strategy, Conflict and Adaptability in Action

Day 2 brought learning to life. Delegates tackled a practical case study, working in groups to design marketing strategies, budgets and pitches before presenting to Frank for feedback. The energy and creativity in the room made it a real highlight.

The afternoon with Paula Tully shifted focus to managing conflict as a leader, where participants explored their natural conflict styles, learned to recognise others’ preferences, and practised flexing their approach. The goal? To build agility in handling conflict, and to leave with clear action plans for strengthening resolution skills.

We closed the day with an energising session on adaptive leadership, led by our Associate, Graham Morl. With 35+ years of experience across the Pharmaceutical and Nuclear Medicine sectors, Graham has held senior roles in Marketing, Sales and Strategic Planning at both global and local levels. His session helped delegates experiment with adapting their leadership style to achieve greater team engagement, retention and motivation.

Day 3 – Coaching, Mentoring and Leadership Agility

Our final day focused on one of the most powerful tools in a leader’s toolkit: coaching and mentoring. With Sue Reynolds, a seasoned Global People Leader, and our Executive coach Matt Juby, delegates explored the nuances of mentoring vs coaching in the context of line management. Through discussion, reflection and live practice, participants practiced coaching skills to deepen their agility and leadership impact. It was the perfect close to a module designed to challenge thinking, build new skills and create a safe space for growth.

Hear more from our delegates:

“It is exactly what I needed. I love the variety of the sessions and the chance to practice in a safe environment.”

“All the essentials packed into one course, Small cohort so you can make connections and not feel intimidated, Lots of practical sessions, not too much pre work and homework between modules.”

“The experience is enriching, making it a worthwhile investment in your personal development journey.”
